As part of our empowerment initiative, we are constantly striving to create a better experience for you and your employees when working with Planday. Editing employment details is a crucial function of the system when adding new hires or updating information of existing employees. To facilitate this experience we have introduced a few user interface changes and improvements to the functionality of editing employee details.

Where can I find it?

You can access these changes from the same place which you are used to by going to People > Employees > clicking on any existing employee > Edit

You don't have to do anything to enable the change as it will be applied to your portal automatically.

What has changed?

Editing employee details opens up in the new Planday UI with a modern interface layout.

User Actions

Commonly used actions such as editing a username, deactivating an account, and updating profile picture are now grouped under User Actions whereas in the past they were under User Information section. We have also moved the ability to Reset password and Send a welcome message under the User Actions section.

Employee Details > Personal details

Personal details tab replaces the Employee details sections where you can edit information about the employee, their address and any custom fields you have created in your employee setup form. Note that if you select Australia as a country, you will be asked to choose a State/Province automatically.

Groups & Wages > Employment

Groups & Wages section has been replaced by the Employment tab that now lets you add the employee to a Department, select the groups the employee should be part of and apply Contract Rules directly from here.

Creating Contracts > Documents

We have moved the employee's past and current Contracts under the restructured Documents tab. Here you can also find the ability to upload files for the employee such as user manuals or company guides. We have also added a new Notes section where you can leave text notes for the employees such as instructions or notices.
