Working in the schedule is fast, and you have a lot a great tools available at your fingertips. Here, we'll go through the basics of creating, copying, moving, and deleting shifts.
Navigation: Schedule > Schedule
To create a shift you just click on the schedule where you want to create the shift. Shifts can be created from any one of the three views: Groups, Employees, and Positions.
Moving shifts with drag and drop
To move a shift you simply drag and drop it to wherever you want. Drag and drop is especially useful if you are assigning Open shifts from the Employees view. Just drag an Open shift and drop it to assign it to the employee.
If you have the same shift on more days, it is easy to copy the shift using Cmd (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) keys and placing a copy of the shift wherever you need it.
To copy a shift, just hold down the Cmd (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) key, and drag the shift to where you want to copy it. Copying shifts can be done from the Employees, Groups and Positions view.
Shifts can be deleted one by one, or you can bulk delete all shifts in a single week.
- Delete a single shift: Click the shift, and then click Delete at the bottom of the dialog box.
- Delete all shifts in a week: Go to Tools in the top right corner and select Delete this week
Creating, moving, copying and deleting shifts in the Template editor
Navigation: Schedule > Schedule > Templates > Create new
The Templates editor works in the same way as the Schedule. You can create, move, and copy shifts in exactly the same way as in the schedule.
To delete a full week in a template, just hit the trash can icon of the week you want to delete.
