How to open the developer console in your web browser

Use your web browser's developer console to help troubleshoot Planday issues with support.

Required steps: Make sure to log in to Planday before starting.

If you experience issues in Planday, you can access diagnostic information from your web browser to help troubleshoot. Sharing this information can save valuable time for both you and our support team.

When facing an issue in Planday, follow the steps below to open the developer console in your browser.

After logging in, reproduce the issue to capture all relevant details including the screenshot of the console and send it to Planday support.

Note: Some Planday pages may include sensitive information about your business and staff. Store screenshots securely and only share them with support through official channels (e.g., Planday's in-app chat).


Google Chrome

  1. Right-click on the page, choose Inspect, then select the Console tab.

    • Mac shortcut: Cmd+Option+J

    • Windows/Linux/Chrome OS shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+J

  2. Reproduce the issue, then take a screenshot showing both the console and the Planday page.

    • Mac shortcut: Shift+Cmd+4+Space

    • Windows shortcut: Windows logo key+Shift+S

Firefox

  1. Right-click on the page, select Inspect Element, then go to the Console tab.

    • Mac shortcut: Cmd+Option+K

    • Windows shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+J

  2. Reproduce the issue, then take a screenshot including the console and the Planday page.

    • Mac shortcut: Shift+Cmd+4+Space

    • Windows shortcut: Windows logo key+Shift+S

Microsoft Edge (for Windows)

  1. Press F12 or Right-click the page, select Inspect, and choose the Console tab.

    • Shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+I, then select Console.

  2. Reproduce the issue, then take a screenshot covering both the console and the Planday page.

    • Shortcut: Windows logo key+Shift+S. (Windows).

Safari (for Mac)

  1. Enable Develop menu: Go to Safari > Preferences > Advanced and check Show Develop menu.

  2. Right-click on the page, select Inspect Element, then go to the Console tab.

    • Shortcut: Cmd+Option+C.

  3. Reproduce the issue, then take a screenshot showing the console and Planday page.

    • Shortcut: Shift+Cmd+4+Space (Mac) or Windows logo key+Shift+S. (Windows).
