What is Revenue Performance?

The Performance feature enhances the Revenue module by allowing you to review incoming revenue based on which employees are working. With Performance, you can have a better overview of which employees and days drive the most revenue.

Please note that access to this feature depends on your permissions and security level, so some salary data may be hidden accordingly. For example:

  • An administrator can only see payroll costs for employees with a lower access level than their own.

  • Payroll costs for employees with the same or higher access level are hidden.

Reach out to support and ask to speak to a human agent if you have a question about accessing the Performance feature.

Where to find Revenue Performance in Planday

Go to Planday web > Reports > Revenue > Performance

This opens the Performance dashboard, where you can analyse revenue data, employee performance, and associated costs.

Filter options

To customise the data you see in the Performance tool, use the filter options at the top of the page:

  • Date range: Select the period you want to review (e.g., a specific week or month).

  • Departments: Choose the relevant department(s) to focus your analysis.

  • Additional filters:

    • Employee groups: Filter by specific groups of employees.

    • Units: Refine data based on units within your organisation.

    • Days of the week: Focus on specific days (e.g., weekdays vs. weekends).

Use comparison mode to spot trends

Key metrics and data views

Below the filters, you’ll find various performance metrics and tables to help analyse revenue and costs:

Average revenue and cost per day

View average revenue and associated labour costs for each day of the week.

This helps you identify patterns, such as:

  • Which days generate the highest revenue

  • Which days have the lowest labour costs

Average cost per hour

This view displays hourly payroll costs and employee activity.

You can analyse:

  • Average revenue per hour

  • Average labour costs per hour

This helps ensure your operations remain profitable throughout the day.

Revenue and cost on employee's working days

Tip: To view deeper insights, click on an employee or group's name. This opens a detailed breakdown of their performance.

This section shows revenue and payroll costs based on the days employees worked.

It helps you evaluate an individual's performance in relation to revenue.

You can view:

  • Their top-performing days

  • Which colleagues they typically work with

  • Their individual contribution to total revenue on the days they worked

This makes it easier to monitor working hours and ensure compliance with local labour regulations.

Revenue and cost for employee groups

You can also analyse revenue based on employee groups and the days those groups are working.

To view deeper insights, click on an employee group’s name. This opens a detailed breakdown of their performance, including:

  • Percentage of revenue on working days

  • Payroll % based on revenue

  • Percentage of cost on working days

How to use this data

The Performance tool helps you make more informed staffing decisions and better align staffing with business goals.

You can use it to:

  • Identify trends: Use day and hour-specific data to optimise staffing and improve revenue.

  • Evaluate team performance: Compare employee contributions to revenue with payroll costs.

  • Plan for improvements: Use the insights to adjust scheduling, manage costs, and maximise profitability.
