Why can't I log into Planday? — FAQs and troubleshooting

Get an overview of what you can do as an employee in case of login problems.

🎯 For employees and admins who are trying to help their employees log into Planday. If you’ve just been invited to Planday, confirm your invitation and create a password. See Joining Planday - Confirm your username for more details.

I’m trying to log in for the first time

  • Please check your email inbox, including the junk mail section if applicable.

  • Press the confirmation link provided. (This link will remain valid for 48 hours. If it has expired, please ask your manager to re-invite you to Planday.) Read more about this in Joining Planday - Confirm your username.


I did not receive the invitation email

  • Ask your Planday admin to double-check your e-mail address for any spelling mistakes or spaces at the beginning or the end of your email address. The username (email address) should match the e-mail the employee plans to use with Planday.

The following characters are not supported in the username:

  • Umlauts ä, ö and ü, and the ß in upper and lower case.

  • Scandinavian letters æ, ø, å in upper and lower case.

  • It could be that the email address has been blocked. If the initial delivery attempt for an invitation email fails, our mail provider will block the corresponding email address. To unblock it, an admin must reach out to our Support team by clicking on the blue icon in the bottom right corner of your screen. State the email address of the employee profile in question and your Planday URL (company-name.planday.com)

  • Check your spam folder and search for address no-reply@planday.com. To be sure your email provider will correctly assign Planday messages to your inbox folder, add the email address no-reply@planday.com to your contacts. Email addresses stored in your contacts are usually routed to the correct folder without any problems.

  • Please check whether Planday messages are currently being incorrectly assigned to your spam folder. If this is the case, then you have the option of flagging Planday emails as "No spam." The corresponding sender address will then no longer be blocked in the future.

  • If you still can’t find the email, ask your manager to reach out to our Support team


How can I log in if I don’t know my company’s Planday URL?

You will find this in your invitation email. It follows the format company-name.planday.com.
Alternatively, you can ask your colleague or your manager. Make sure that the URL matches the correct country code domain .com or .dk.

  • You can also open https://www.planday.com/login/ from a web browser. If you have already logged in, you can select your company directly.

  • Otherwise, you can enter your email address.

  • If this email address is associated with a Planday organisation, you’ll receive an email with your Planday URL. Click on the appropriate URL to log in.


I have a cursor with a no-entry sign on the login fields (username and password)

It could be that your browser is preventing you from accepting our cookie policy. If it is not possible to accept it, it is also not possible to log in. In that case, check if your browser has any plugins that are blocking our cookie policy.


I see the message “The username or password you entered is incorrect”

  • If your password is incorrect, click on Forgot password. You can read the article How to reset your Planday password.

  • It could be that your email address doesn’t correspond to the one you have in Planday. Your Planday admin or yourself can update it. You can read the article How to change username in Planday.

  • Check with your Planday admin that your e-mail address doesn’t have any spelling mistakes or spaces at the beginning or the end. An admin can do this from the web by going to People > Employees > click on the employee's name.


I did not receive the password reset email

  • Check your spam folder and search for address no-reply@planday.com. To be sure your email provider will correctly assign Planday messages to your inbox folder, add the email address no-reply@planday.com to your contacts.

  • Make sure that the URL you entered matches the correct country code domain .com or .dk

  • If you still can’t find the email, your Planday admin can set a new password


My manager changed my email address and I still can’t log in

You may be asked to confirm your username when you log in for the first time or when you or your manager updates your email address.

Please note:

To confirm your account when your login details are updated, you need to click on the link in the email. Your old login details will still work until you finish the final step and click the confirmation link sent to your email.

If you’ve confirmed your username and you still can’t log in, it could be that your browser is preventing you from accepting our cookie policy. If it is not possible to accept it, it is also not possible to log in. In that case, check if your browser has any plugins that are blocking our cookie policy.
