Getting started with a trial

How can I start my 30-day free trial?

Sign up here: Planday.com/signup

  • No commitment, no credit card required.

  • Use your company email so you can easily upgrade your trial to a paid subscription later.


How can I get help during my trial?

Log in to your trial workspace and click the Planday icon in the bottom‑right corner.


How do I invite employees and set up my trial workspace?

When you sign up for a trial, you’ll answer a few basic questions to set up your workspace.

You can test Planday using sample employees or real staff members.

Can I have more than one department in my trial workspace?

Your trial starts with one department.

If you need more, log in to your Planday workspace and chat with us so we can help.


How can I try Pro features during my trial?

The trial includes the Plus plan so you can explore most Planday features.

If you want to try features from another plan, log in and chat with us.


Trial upgrades & billing

Will I be charged during my trial?

No. The trial is completely free. You will only be charged if you choose to purchase a paid package.


How do I upgrade my trial to a paid subscription?

To upgrade to a paid subscription, log in to the Planday web version and click

Buy now in the main menu. You’ll be taken to the Account page, where you can select your preferred plan.

Under Users today, you can calculate your exact costs based on the number of users by clicking the plus sign. The number of users can only be increased in increments of 5, as billing is done in groups of 5 users.

Click Choose plan to review your order summary. There you can also enter your billing details, select a payment method and choose a billing cycle, such as monthly or quarterly. You will see a summary of your order, including any subscription fees associated with the package, the cost breakdown per user, and the applicable VAT percentage.

Then proceed by clicking Proceed to payment to complete your purchase.


Trial expiry, cancellation and data

How do I cancel my trial?

  • Your Planday trial automatically ends after 30 days if you don't subscribe.

  • No action is needed if you choose not to continue; you won't be automatically upgraded to a paid package.

  • If you don't log in after your trial expires, your trial data will be automatically deleted after a brief grace period.

I forgot to purchase a subscription before my trial expired. Can I still keep my data?

  • Account admins can still log in for a short period after the trial ends.

  • During this time, you can access the Account page to purchase a subscription and keep your data.

  • If no action is taken within this period, your trial workspace, along with all associated data, will be permanently deleted.


Can I extend my 30-day trial period?

In some cases, you can request an extension to your trial period if you need more time to evaluate Planday.

  • If your trial has expired: Email us at support@planday.com with your Planday workspace URL address to request an extension.

  • If your trial is still active: Log in to your Planday workspace and chat with us so we can help you.
